Hi Lovely followers, I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend- even if it is raining quite a bit!

I was recently sent some Beauty UK Products to try and I was actually quite pleasantly surprised by one of them!
BeautyUK is a very affordable brand available in Superdrugs as well as a couple other stores within the UK but I actually haven't tried too much from them. I was sent the baked eye shadow palette in Earth with consists of three neutral eyeshadows.

They say
'Slow baked powders refined into a pressed trio of shimmering shades. Sheer in texture yet buildable with each sweep of the brush. Colour intensifies to create a veil of luminous hues on the eyes.'

I would completely agree with what they say about them, they aren't incredibly pigmented but extremely buildable!
I wouldn't say that these compare to MAC (or another high end brand) but they are great for such an affordable price! These are perfect for people starting of with makeup or that are on a budget.

Kit for Combination Skin (designed for combination to oily skin)

Mayblossom T-zone Control Cleansing Gel
This is the first cleansing gel I have used and one suited for oily t-zone (which I have) skin, so I was intrigued to try this. To apply you just gently rub it between your hands and it will lather slightly but not loads, and massage into face before rinsing away. I liked the texture of this and it applies well, you only need a couple of blobs to cover the face. It also smells nice and left my skin feeling really soft and refreshed afterwards.
For a 150ml bottle of this it costs £17.00 which isn’t a bad price. I really liked this product so I will definitely consider buying this.

Invisible Pores Detox Mask
This clay mask says it is “designed to reduce the appearance of pore size and leave the skin purified, soothed and toned.” The consistency of this mask is rather like a thick cream and is easy to blend over the face before drying. It does take a while to dry and to harden but you don't need to cake it on, which makes it easier to wash off. I have used this product a couple of times but did not seem to see much difference with my pores but my skin did feel nice and sooth afterwards.
This retails at £18.00 for 50ml. I am not sure I would buy this again as I don’t really think it benefitted me much and there are many cheaper alternatives on the market that would do the same thing.

T-zone Balancing Day Fluid
This day fluid claims it will “balance combination skin” and “leave complexion looking even toned.” Although they say it is a fluid it is definitely a light cream, but I really like this as it is nice and lightweight and great to wear under make-up. After using this I have notice my skin looks healthier and more evenly toned.
This is another product I would look at buying again as it has improved my skin tone and texture. The only thing is that for a 50ml bottle it cost £26.00, which I only just realised! So on second thought maybe this is nice gift... I might ask for this for Christmas haha!

I used philosophy skin care products a a few years ago and had repurchased a couple of times. At some point I moved on to something else but haven't settled with another brand. Since my skin took a turn for the worse this year I tried to work out what I did at a time when my skin was as close to perfect as perhaps it ever would be. I felt compelled to try Philosophy again. Having used the range consistently for the past two months, here is my review. I hope it's useful to you!

Purity Made Simple Cleanser £17.50 // 236.6ml

This cleanser is the gem in the crown of the Philosophy range. I love it! It makes my skin feel a lot cleaner than other cleansers - pores are visibly clearer and blackheads barely in existence. I breakout infrequently when I use this and find I have less need for other products (like exfoliators and toners).

It has an unusual consistency and doesn't lather into foam. A little goes a long way so I find that although it's pricey the bottle does last quite a long time - my current bottle is two-thirds full and I've had it for around 2.5 months.

It's the only cleanser I've ever found to easily and quickly remove waterproof mascara without the need for a separate eye makeup remover (and without stinging the eyes at all). This is probably it's unique selling point and why it has such a cult following. anything to cut down time, right girls?!

Will I repurchase? Yes, definitely. BUT - having recently undergone consultations at dermatology practices I'm now intrigued by glycolic cleansers like Jan Marini and MD Forte.

Hope in a Jar Moisturiser £33.50 // 56.7g

This has such a strange consistency - thick and almost gloopy. It doesn't soak into the skin as easily as others and this might be what puts some people off. I don't see this as a negative - all it means is that you have to massage the product in which is good for your skin and what we should do with all moisturisers anyway. I find this quite a heavy cream so use it at night, everywhere except my slightly oily t-zone!

I get a great result using this cream. Lines are diminished. Skin looks vibrant and glowing. I have a rosy glow! I look healthy. I believe this product is the reason I have more even skin tone and less redness around my nose. The best face cream I've ever used and I think it's highly appropriate for my age group and older who need a little extra care.
