Hi Lovely followers, I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend- even if it is raining quite a bit!

I was recently sent some Beauty UK Products to try and I was actually quite pleasantly surprised by one of them!
BeautyUK is a very affordable brand available in Superdrugs as well as a couple other stores within the UK but I actually haven't tried too much from them. I was sent the baked eye shadow palette in Earth with consists of three neutral eyeshadows.

They say
'Slow baked powders refined into a pressed trio of shimmering shades. Sheer in texture yet buildable with each sweep of the brush. Colour intensifies to create a veil of luminous hues on the eyes.'

I would completely agree with what they say about them, they aren't incredibly pigmented but extremely buildable!
I wouldn't say that these compare to MAC (or another high end brand) but they are great for such an affordable price! These are perfect for people starting of with makeup or that are on a budget.

Kit for Combination Skin (designed for combination to oily skin)

Mayblossom T-zone Control Cleansing Gel
This is the first cleansing gel I have used and one suited for oily t-zone (which I have) skin, so I was intrigued to try this. To apply you just gently rub it between your hands and it will lather slightly but not loads, and massage into face before rinsing away. I liked the texture of this and it applies well, you only need a couple of blobs to cover the face. It also smells nice and left my skin feeling really soft and refreshed afterwards.
For a 150ml bottle of this it costs £17.00 which isn’t a bad price. I really liked this product so I will definitely consider buying this.

Invisible Pores Detox Mask
This clay mask says it is “designed to reduce the appearance of pore size and leave the skin purified, soothed and toned.” The consistency of this mask is rather like a thick cream and is easy to blend over the face before drying. It does take a while to dry and to harden but you don't need to cake it on, which makes it easier to wash off. I have used this product a couple of times but did not seem to see much difference with my pores but my skin did feel nice and sooth afterwards.
This retails at £18.00 for 50ml. I am not sure I would buy this again as I don’t really think it benefitted me much and there are many cheaper alternatives on the market that would do the same thing.

T-zone Balancing Day Fluid
This day fluid claims it will “balance combination skin” and “leave complexion looking even toned.” Although they say it is a fluid it is definitely a light cream, but I really like this as it is nice and lightweight and great to wear under make-up. After using this I have notice my skin looks healthier and more evenly toned.
This is another product I would look at buying again as it has improved my skin tone and texture. The only thing is that for a 50ml bottle it cost £26.00, which I only just realised! So on second thought maybe this is nice gift... I might ask for this for Christmas haha!

I used philosophy skin care products a a few years ago and had repurchased a couple of times. At some point I moved on to something else but haven't settled with another brand. Since my skin took a turn for the worse this year I tried to work out what I did at a time when my skin was as close to perfect as perhaps it ever would be. I felt compelled to try Philosophy again. Having used the range consistently for the past two months, here is my review. I hope it's useful to you!

Purity Made Simple Cleanser £17.50 // 236.6ml

This cleanser is the gem in the crown of the Philosophy range. I love it! It makes my skin feel a lot cleaner than other cleansers - pores are visibly clearer and blackheads barely in existence. I breakout infrequently when I use this and find I have less need for other products (like exfoliators and toners).

It has an unusual consistency and doesn't lather into foam. A little goes a long way so I find that although it's pricey the bottle does last quite a long time - my current bottle is two-thirds full and I've had it for around 2.5 months.

It's the only cleanser I've ever found to easily and quickly remove waterproof mascara without the need for a separate eye makeup remover (and without stinging the eyes at all). This is probably it's unique selling point and why it has such a cult following. anything to cut down time, right girls?!

Will I repurchase? Yes, definitely. BUT - having recently undergone consultations at dermatology practices I'm now intrigued by glycolic cleansers like Jan Marini and MD Forte.

Hope in a Jar Moisturiser £33.50 // 56.7g

This has such a strange consistency - thick and almost gloopy. It doesn't soak into the skin as easily as others and this might be what puts some people off. I don't see this as a negative - all it means is that you have to massage the product in which is good for your skin and what we should do with all moisturisers anyway. I find this quite a heavy cream so use it at night, everywhere except my slightly oily t-zone!

I get a great result using this cream. Lines are diminished. Skin looks vibrant and glowing. I have a rosy glow! I look healthy. I believe this product is the reason I have more even skin tone and less redness around my nose. The best face cream I've ever used and I think it's highly appropriate for my age group and older who need a little extra care.

LIFT & FIRM EYE CREAM
Any woman who is 40+ will probably tell you that eye cream is essential in helping to hide aging eyes.  When my eyes are dry underneath, my makeup doesn’t go on as smoothly and fine lines and wrinkles are amplified.
The Meaningful Beauty Lift & Firm Eye Cream did a very nice job of absorbing into the delicate eye area.  It was smooth and moisturizing without being greasy.  If you have ever tried an eye cream that did not absorb into the skin, then you know the importance of finding one that does.  There is nothing more frustrating than applying eye makeup and having your eye cream ball up beneath your eye.
SKIN BRIGHTENING DECOLLETE AND NECK TREATMENT SPF15
This product was the one that I enjoyed the most out of the five I tried.  I can honestly say that before trying this skincare regimen, I rarely used any product on my neckline.  I believe that is one of the biggest mistakes I make in my daily routine.
Think about older women that you see.  I have seen some that have such youthful looking faces, but their neck and chest area give away their age.  It is just as important to take care of your chest and neck area to maintain a younger appearance.  I will definitely continue to use products on these areas daily.
I was really pleased that this particular product uses SPF15 to protect the skin from harmful rays.  It feels very nice when applying it to the skin and left me feeling soft and supple.

My Thoughts: I love all of the colors in the Beautiful Smoke Palette. It gave off pretty good pigment and the liner was a great touch, but I would suggest using a primer with it for sure!

Ever since I stopped taking birth control over 3 years ago, my skin has gone from being normal to dry to extremely oily, and as a result, quite acne prone. On top of that, I've always had sensitive skin that was easily rubbed the wrong way (no pun intended!) by harsh facial or skincare products. With those things in mind and my desire to only use organic skincare, I decided to pick up the Juice Beauty Organics to Clear Skin try-me set to see if it could work magic on my face. I purchased my kit from ULTA, but I believe it's also sold at Sephora and Bloom.com, among other retailers.

The kit runs for almost $40 but it contains fairly large size products, especially compared to other try-me type kits (it says on the packaging that the products are sized as shown, which is also nice since so many companies show big sizes on the front and then you open the box to find they are a LOT smaller than you thought). Inside you get a face wash/cleanser, a blemish clearing serum, an oil-free moisturizer, a peel for sensitive skin and a little soft sham. You also get a nice, detailed instruction page that shows you how often and when to use each of the products. Essentially, the recommendation is that you wash your face twice as day, along with applying the serum and moisturizer. The peel is meant to be used once a week.

I'll start by saying that I thought the cleanser was really wonderful. It has a very light, subtle citrus scent and lathers just enough. It rinses clean, removed all specks of makeup and didn't make my skin feel tight, rough or stripped (a big pet peeve!). It also only took one pump of product for me to wash my face, so the trial size product I received in the kit wound up lasting me two months instead of 30 days (which is the promise).

The blemish clearing serum also really impressed me. It says you can spot treat, but my skin was so bad at the time that I just applied a light layer all over my face. The serum had a light tightening effect as it sank into my skin, so I would let it sit for about 10 minutes until I felt the tightness and then I'd go back to apply the moisturizer. The serum definitely makes a difference! Although I don't think it did as much for me in the realm of preventing new pimples, it most certainly helped existing pimples heal much more quickly. My only complaint is that I couldn't use it twice a day because it didn't sit well with my foundation and would cause my face makeup to speckle all over my face rather than sinking in. I've read some other reviews of this kit and some folks have said it works great under their makeup, so if you buy it, give it a try on the weekend when you have time to go back and wash your face again if it doesn't work well with your foundation. :)

The oil-free moisturizer I could give or take. I found that it could be a bit splotchy, so I'd rub the product between my hands for a few seconds to warm it up before applying it and that helped. It also sinks in really quickly and doesn't leave a greasy feeling on your skin (probably because it's oil-free), so that was nice. Unfortunately it doesn't have SPF, so you'll want to make sure your foundation does, or you'll want to apply a sunscreen separately. Personally, I just enjoy a bit more luxurious of a face cream -- something that feels nourishing to apply -- so this thinner formula didn't strike my fancy as much.

The only product in the kit that I really felt was wasted on me was the green apple peel. Now, granted it's made for sensitive skin, so it may just be that it was toosensitive for me, although given my history with skincare products that seems to be a bit of a stretch. The instructions say to apply a thin layer on your skin and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing. It hardens on your face as most masks do, but it's clear in color so you don't actually notice any product on your face. Apparently it's supposed to peel off the top layer of your skin to reveal the glowing skin underneath and help heal acne scars, but I really didn't notice any difference, even after using the peel once a week, as recommended, for a full two months.

At the end of the day, the Juice Beauty kit never 100% cleared my skin, especially around that time of the month, but I DO think that it made a pretty dramatic difference and would recommend it to anyone struggling with mild to moderate acne. I've actually gone ahead and purchased the full sizes of the cleanser and blemish clearing serum and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I've also stocked up on a few other Juice Beauty products to try, including their Perfecting Foundation, so stay tuned for a review on those products soon!
